As an employer you may face problems with both current and former employees. If your company has a personal relations or human resources department, your first step to settling a disgruntlement should begin by contacting them directly to discuss the matter. However, in the instance where your company does not have such resources and you are unable to resolve the issue yourself, you can make a claim to an employment tribunal.

If you were an employee for a company from which you feel you were dismissed unfairly, you may be eligible to make unfair dismissal claim to an Employment Tribunal. In most cases you will have worked for that particular employer for a year before you are eligible to make a claim. Conversely, if you were dismissed before 1 October 2006, you will need to have been under your retirement age.
