Redundancy Payment

Redundancies could be being considered for one of three reasons.

  1. The business is reducing or disappearing
  2. The workplace and the facilities are reducing or disappearing
  3. The job is no longer required within the business.

You can calculate the number of weeks redundancy pay you are entitled to by using the figures below:

0.5 week's pay for each full year of service where age during year less than 22
1.0 week's pay for each full year of service where age during year is 22 or above, but less than 41
1.5 weeks' pay for each full year of service where age during year is 41+
If as an employee your total years of service bridge across two bands, the figures in each band should be added together.
