If you win compensation for unfair dismissal at a Tribunal, your award will be made up of a basic award and a compensatory award.
The basic award is calculated by taking the employee's age, years of service and average weekly pay to arrive at a figure. The weekly pay figure is limited to a maximum of £280 per week, and the maximum years that will be considered is 20. The amount can be reduced if the Tribunal thinks you contributed to the dismissal in some way.
